Java Web DeveloperReports to: Director of TechnologyDepartment: Technology About the Role:MRM is a dynamic, forward-looking advertising agency creating cutting-edge, consumer-facing web sites and marketing tools. We require smart, energetic User Interface (UI) and Application Developers to develop for our international clients on the latest technology platforms. We have an immediate need for a developer that familiar with the Adobe CQ (formerly Day CQ) application framework. An ideal candidate will be a strong Java developer with an ability to setup, configure and develop within the Adobe CQ, CRX, WCM, DAM and Social Collaboration suite. This candidate should have a solid understanding of all CQ building blocks including templates, components, dialogs, widgets, etc, and the CQ development and deployment process and write HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and JQuery, and have an awareness of existing plug-ins as starting points for component development. Training and certification will be provided for candidates with basic Java skills. Responsibilities: Develop a deep understanding of the existing digital platform including associated databases, data sources and dependencies, workflow, information architecture, and legacy systems currently in production. Work closely with Creative team members to bridge design and engineering work effort and interact with clients to create end-to-end specifications for content & collaboration solutions. Develop and implement new components for the Adobe CQ platform to closely match PSD files delivered from Creative team. Extend previously created Adobe CQ Components, for simple, intuitive, author editing of pages using JSP/JSTL. Understand cross-browser compatibility, built in browser coding tools (i.g. Firebug, IE Tools), and code specifically for IE8+, Chrome, Firefox, and Safari. Communicate clearly and work effectively in an iterative/Agile methodology as needed or requested. Define best practices and standards to manage performance and scalability of the content management and content delivery solution, implementation processes, and quality gates. REQUIRED: Knowledge of Adobe CQ5+ Web Content Management platform and working experience implementing, enhancing, and troubleshooting Adobe CQ5 installations with extensive knowledge of setup and configuration of the Adobe CMS product suite Advanced knowledge of Object Oriented Programming (Java preferred) Strong technical background and excellent portfolio of work and evidence of depth of knowledge in interactive projects Strong knowledge and experience with JavaServer Pages (JSP) and experience with JavaScript in the client side environment Relevant experience in SQL, XML, HTML, MVC, Struts, JSF, REST, SOAP, XML/RPC, JBoss, Tomcat, CSS, Java Servlets, JavaEE and JavaScript Experience developing Web applications for high level traffic consumer facing websites working in a high-paced advertising agency environment Knowledge of open standards (e.g. XML, XSLT, LDAP) and experience in web development using enterprise-level content management system Proficient in Adobe CQ foundational concepts, including the CRX repository, the CQ platform, the use of core frameworks such as Apache Sling and Apache Felix Understanding of Java, Java EE, Servlets, JSP, Tag libraries, and JSTL skills, combined with a strong understanding of Enterprise Java frameworks such as Spring and Hibernate Education and Certifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering from four-year college or university; and five (5) years current Web Development related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
