Reports To: VP - IS Governance Direct Reports to this Position: None Key Interactions: IT Leadership Team, Enterprise Project Management Office In support of the many exciting initiatives planned at ANN INC., the Information Technology group has created a Project Manager role, reporting into the VP of IS Governance. This role will be part of the IS Project Management Office and will provide project management services in support of a variety of projects across the IT Application areas. Responsible for managing all aspects of diverse, complex IT projects, including project planning, execution, timing, functionality, quality and cost. Applies project management processes & methodologies for the IT community to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, adhere to high quality standards & meet customer expectations. Responsible for assembling project plans & teamwork assignments, directing work efforts on a daily basis, identifying resource needs, performing quality review; & escalating issues appropriately. Utilizes expertise and leadership skills to direct staff and to resolve issues to ensure project goals and requirements are met. Communicates with project team members and stakeholders to provide timely and accurate information and status updates. Responsible for tracking key project milestones & adjusting project plans and/or resources to meet the needs of customers. Assists EPMO and IT Leadership in partnering with senior management of the business community to identify & prioritize opportunities for utilizing IT to achieve the goals of the enterprise. Evaluates and audits project management processes and templates for the project management office (PMO). Compiles metrics relating to IT project success and adherence to defined processes. May track costs and performance, service levels and other metrics required to ensure project goals and objectives are met. Serves as a resource to other project managers to educate and assist them with implementing project management processes and making improvement/changes. Ensure compliance with established project management methodology by partnering with IS project managers to conduct periodic stage gate / milestone peers reviews. Provide regular status reporting on the IS project portfolio, including budget consumption, schedule/milestone delivery and resource utilization. Assess and report on inter-project dependencies across IS portfolio Function as a ‘center of excellence’ for IS project managers, acting as a coach / consultant on project initiation, project control, and post-implementation review practices. This is a management role with HR management responsibilities (e.g., hiring, performance management). Has responsibility for multiple large, complex projects with greater impact to the enterprise. Desired Skills and Experience: Deep understanding of Project Management concepts (e.g., demand management, prioritization, approval processes, reporting, issue/risk resolution, dependency identification, financial tracking, scheduling, resource management, capacity planning) Significant experience with IT Project Execution (e.g., estimation, scoping, build, budget, staffing, vendor management, contract management, deployment and release management, organizational change management, quality assurance) Hands-on experience with large-scale system development efforts through all stages of the project life-cycle Understanding of retail enterprise architecture Understanding of technical design and solution architecture principles Understanding of technical testing (e.g., performance, functional, and user acceptance) methodology Understanding of deep level IT concepts as they relate to project risks, issues, and scope changes Ability to identify dependencies between projects and existing production environments Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or other related field. Or equivalent work experience. Project Management certification or successful completion of a recognized project management curriculum is preferred. Typically has 7 to 10 years of IT work experience, including 4 or more years managing projects. Experience with projects in multiple technologies and functions. Previous experience in retail industry is a strong plus. Working knowledge of IS strategy and planning practices Working knowledge of budget development and management practices Working knowledge of all areas of the organization and the ability to develop a clear understanding of the company’s key functional processes and systems Strong project team leadership and team building skills. Proven leadership experience, including demonstrating the ability to achieve results though others Strong communications skills; ability to interact with senior leadership Structured problem solving skills; ability to identify high-impact issues/risk for executive review
