CakePHP Developers welcome! This position requires you to be in our office in NYC - No remote applications please. MicroOffice has an immediate opening for a freelance CakePHP Developer for a duration of one month. We offer a friendly, relaxed environment in which to work and collaborate with other talented people as one of NYC's biggest co-working space providers. Benefits include flexible hours, free coffee, and an endless supply of cake. Our ideal candidate is a master of building and establishing core CakePHP application infrastructure and will be responsible for data models, site structure, and html templates. Essentially, we are preparing to migrate from Perl to CakePHP and you will be setting the foundation. Requirements: • A degree in Computer Science or comparable experience in software development (4+ years). • A strong passion and thirst to keep up with new industry trends and standards. • Strong exposure to object oriented design and development is necessary. • Good understanding of database fundamentals, PostgreSQL and/or equivalent database experience. • Experience with Linux. Preferred Skills: • Experience with site porting. • Knowledge of Perl, CGI, and other programming languages/plugins is a great asset. • A great personality and sense of humor.
