Job Description

Specific Tasks to be Accomplished: UNICEF is in the process of implementing an ISO/IEC: 27001 Information Management System. As part of this program, IT Security will also develop and implement an Organizational IT Security Incident response team (CERT/SCIRT) to address our global cyber security response capacity. In order to ensure constant processes etc. are followed IT Security will "blend" existing documentation into one Incident Management Red Book, that will be used to manage security and non-security incidents throughout the organization, as well as develop additional documentation (cheat-sheets), etc. identified by team members to operationalize UNICEF's Incident Management Regime. The technical writer will be tasked with: Working with UNICEF IT staff and or IT Security Professional Services partner to: Establish working group comprised of both UNICEF staff and IT Security Service provider who will provide feedback to proposed outputs. Re-write existing incident management processes into one cohesive document. Ensure linkage to existing documents and or ISO27002 are maintained. Work with ITSS Security and other ITSSD Sections to ensure proper release process is maintained. Work with staff in ensuring proper document management processes are followed. There will be multiple phases of work, each with its own set of deliverables: July 2013 Draft Incident Management Redbook completed and submitted. August 2013 Final version of Incident Management Redbook completed and submitted. Minimum of two (2) Operational cheat sheets completed and submitted. Submit Training and communication strategy work document identified by Service provider and or Incident Management working group. September 2013 TBD Requirements: First University Degree in Communication. 7 years of technical writing or editorial experience and 5 years of working as a writer or editor in a software development environment. Formal training in Communication, a software-technology related field, or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. Expert in communication, writing and presentation skills. Expert experience with publishing tools and formats (FrameMaker, Acrobat, HTML, Microsoft Word, Illustrator). Exposure to or familiarity with ISO07001. Has expert experience delivering several high quality documentation suites and products to market. Has delivered innovative documentation solutions for complex technical products. Demonstrated expert project management and people management skills. Expert understanding of the software development process. Proven expert experience developing and delivering documentation suites for at least two major product groups. Have an understanding of ISO27001 as well as a background in writing to mixed, non-technical and technical as well as management and non-management audiences. Have strong communication and presentation skills, and the ability to translate complex requirements into usable concepts. Special Note: Proposed Remuneration: Payment is based on deliverables as per the above phases. A lumpsum of $25,000 (equivalent of $400.00/day).
