The Solution Architect routinely engages both internally and externally with Director, VP and C-level staff providing critical perspective and guidance on strategy, investments, technology, and innovation drawing upon their depth and breadth of technical and business impact knowledge. The Solution Architect reports into the Business Technology Solutions team within the Solutions and Services organization. The position may be involved with projects at a global level but will be assigned primary responsibilities in either the US or Europe. The Solution Architect works with the account teams and pursuit teams providing pre-sales support through subject matter expertise, domain expertise, deal sizing, deal pricing, and contract / statement of work generation. The primary objective of the position is to facilitate new sales opportunities as a technology solutions expert. Key Relationships: Ø The Solution Architect will have a rich network of contacts and relationships within the technology services industry with broad exposure and knowledge of numerous technologies, frameworks, and tools. Ø The Solution Architect builds candid relationships of trust with other team members, delivery services resources, executive leadership, sales team and service management. Ø The Solution Architect must also create and develop relationships with existing account and pursuit account directors, engineering, executive management and key technology partners in order to be successful. Key Performance Objectives: Ø The objectives for the role of Solution Architect are to accelerate growth in share of wallet, spread best practices among account teams and elevate strategic mindshare with those they associate with. The Solution Architect creates and articulates customer specific technology solutions in a compelling way. The goal is to become a thought leader and trusted advisor to enterprise CIOs, CTOs, CTO office, VPs of Infrastructure, VPs of Applications, enterprise architects and IT strategists influencing the future overall architecture of established and pursuit accounts based on the benefits of Ness Technologies’ solutions, services and offerings. A key measurement of performance will be provided primarily by the revenue associated with the projects supported by the Solution Architect. Requirements: Ø The role of Solution Architect is a highly technical role. The candidate should feel confident that they can speak at an expert level in a variety of technical topics. Ø Since the Solution Architect augments and assists the sales team, experience as a technical leader within a regional or national team is a desirable. Ø Sales acumen, IT industry experience, and previous technical account management roles are all critical requirements for the Solution Architect. Ø The candidate has likely already established high level customer relationships historically or is actively working at the VP or CTO office level at present. Ø Holds an understanding of the financial and technical challenges faced with running a modern data center, software development environment or IT services structure Ø Has an ability to understand and articulate technology offerings and the benefits they provide in personal, group, and public presentation settings. Ø Holds a strong understanding of competitive technologies, competitor positioning, counter-arguments and emerging technologies that could be both cooperative and competitive to Ness offerings. Ø Having skills and knowledge in the areas of project management, risk management, business finance, business intelligence, and strategic account planning would be advantageous. Ø 5+ years recent experience with data center, IT architecture design, enterprise applications, information security, systems management, business continuity solutions, or mobility solutions Ø Experience as a Solutions Architect in a Fortune 1000 business or IT services company preferred. Ø Proven track record of selling services as part of a solution Ø Ability to see and present "the big picture" and offer solutions to make it better Ø Strong customer-facing and relationship building skills Ø Ability to travel up to 60 percent of the time, including international if necessary Ø Charismatic personality
