The position

This is an exciting job opening supporting TIAA's Global Public Markets (GPM) Quantitative Portfolio Management Team. The position provides an opportunity to work in a high profile, dynamic, and creative environment in an institution with a long and rich history of investing across diverse asset classes.

  • Support and enhance investment processes, reporting and analytical needs for Stable Value and SAGIC related mandates
  • Monitor portfolios compliance
  • Recommend trades and sector allocation for enhanced portfolio performance
  • Generate regular portfolio and management oversight reports
  • Perform fixed-income quantitative analyses, construct and maintain relevant models, process market data and signals.
  • Contribute to the development of investment performance measurement and attribution models to enhance existing GPM performance measurement framework
  • Provide ad hoc research supporting GPM needs
  • Effectively interact with GPM investment teams, including portfolio management, credit research, and trading, and with key business partners such as Risk Management, Product Management, Marketing and Investment Accounting.
  • 3-5 years of buy-side investment management experience in fixed-income markets, with emphasis on fixed-income and quant analytics.
  • Strong modeling and data analysis skills desired. Ability to quickly understand and convey quantitative concepts in a concise, efficient manner is essential.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work efficiently across multiple front-office function areas.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with emphasis on conveying portfolio needs and quantitative concepts.
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment to impact change.
  • MBA or Masters in a quantitative discipline desirable. CFA charter-holder or working towards CFA preferred.
  • Advanced database skills in SQL queries and data processing tools desired.
  • Must be able to utilize large data set and communicate analysis results effectively.
  • Hands-on programming skills in MS Excel, Access, and VBA Scripting desired.
  • Advanced proficiencies in desktop application including Microsoft Office family of products required.
  • Familiarity with third party software packages such as Yield Book, Barclay's Point, and Bloomberg essential.
