Job Description

About New Classrooms New Classrooms is a recently launched, nonprofit organization that creates transformative innovations for K-12 education. Our founding team includes many leaders and original members of School of One, New York Cityrsquos award-winning, personalized educational program named one of the top 50 inventions of 2009 by TIME. New Classroomsrsquo models for instruction reimagine the role of educators, the use of time, the configuration of physical space, and the use of data and technology within traditional public, charter, and independent schools. Our organization was born from the belief that todayrsquos model for delivering education ndash one teacher and 28 or so students in a classroom ndash does not sufficiently account for each studentrsquos needs and assumes that all students arrive on the first day of school with the same academic foundation and ways of learning. For a teacher, this presents the nearly impossible challenge of trying to teach grade-level curriculum while also meeting the needs of each student. New Classrooms complements the role of live, teacher-led instruction with other instructional modalities such as independent learning, collaborative learning, and virtual tutoring. In doing so, we redesign the classroom experience to better meet the needs of each and every student.
